NON - TECHNICAL EVENTS

1. Express 2 Impress

​

Description : An event where you need to impress the judges by expressing. This event is our own version of ADZAP (Guess this is the hint we can give you).

Requirements :  1. Team of 4 members & Team Work

                           2. Creativity & Presence of Mind

                           3. Acting & Influencing Skills

 

2. JAM

​

Description : JAM means Just A Minute. We provide a topic to the participant. We provide just a minute for preparation and just another minute for speaking. The best speaker wins. It’s as simple as that but with varying difficulty levels. This event is restricted to Individual Participation.

Requirements :  1. Luck while picking Topics

                           2. On – Spot Thinking

                           3. Most Importantly COMMUNICATION skills

 

3. Turn Coat

​

Description : We provide any random topic to the participant. The participant is given 5 minutes to think on a few points. Then, the participant has to speak “for or against” the topic. Meanwhile, whenever the judge commands “switch”, the participant has toggle between ‘for’ and ‘against’ multiple times thereby contradicting the previous statements. This event is restricted to Individual Participation.

                           2. Spontaneity while Switches

                           3. Content, Humor, Good Communcation etc.

 

4. Treasure Hunt

​

Description : Guess there’s no need to describe this event. A very well known fun-filled and challenging event.  Our version of the treasure hunt has a roller coaster of hurdles which will stop you from getting the treasure. This event is restricted to internal participants (Saveetha Students) alone.

Requirements :  1. Team of 4 members & Team Work

                           2. Spontaneity in Understanding Clues & Finding the Treasure

 

 5. Shipwreck

​

Description : You are given the role of any random famous personality like Barack Obama, Narendra Modi, etc. You are in a ship, the ship is sinking and above it all the captain has only 2 life-jackets left. Like you, there are several other personalities with you. All you have to do is to sink into the character and try to escape from the sinking ship. This event is restricted to Individual Participation.

Requirements :  1. Luck while picking Personalities.

                           2. Ability to Impress & Convince the Captain

                           3. Debating Skills

6. Wordsworth

​

Description : This event is purely an English based event. The vocabulary level of participants is tested followed by their writing skills. This event is restricted to Individual Participation.

Requirements :  1. Vocabulary Knowledge

                           2. Writing Skills

7. Picture’s Queue

​

Description : A Photography event with 4 rounds. The event’s first two rounds which are the Unique Selfie round and the Portrait Photography round will be conducted in our college. The final two rounds are Reflection Photography and Long Exposure Photography, i.e. the participant has to take a reflection photo and a long exposure photo respectively. The participants will have to be prepared for the final two rounds prior to the start of the event.  The interesting and at the same time the saddening thing is that, for the final two rounds, we will consider only those participants who have cleared the first two rounds. The other photos or participants will not have a chance to win.  This event is restricted to Individual Participation.

8. Beg, Borrow or Steal

​

Description : A crazy game and the only game where you are free to do all sorts of cheating. A list will be given to you. The list may have anything like pencil, pen, etc. (Not so easy things though). All that you have to do is to bring those things within the allotted time by hook or by crook. You are free to beg, borrow or steal or do whatever you want to do. The first round ends with all this tension wherein the second round begins with creativity. With all the things that you have, you have to come up with something  creative, something like an art. The best team shall win !

Requirements :  1. First Round - Spontaneity, Habit of Cheating, Time Management

                           2. Second Round – Creativity

                           3. Both Rounds – Team of 3 members

9. Short Film

​

Description : Short Film is a very common event. When we were thinking of how to bring up twists and turns into this event, we got an idea! The twist was to make this non-technical event into a technical event. We want participants to participate in this non-technical short film event which has technical film topics. The topics are Cyber Security, Save Water & Electricity and Avoid Plastic. Choose a category of your own and come up with a short film of not more than 10 minutes duration. You are free to film it in any language provided the subtitles are present.

Requirements :  1. All requirements mentioned above.
